The Mel Gibson tapes. Where to start? All the tapes / voicemails were recorded February 18. Oksana Grigorieva says she taped him because she feared for her life. Whether witnesses saw him attack her January 6 is the question.
She’s being treated like a common criminal in the slammer, but Lindsay Lohan may be set free as early as this weekend. She’s lobbying for time with family before being shipped off to rehab following her release – don’t bet on it.
A major shakeup at American Idol leaves Randy Jackson the last judge standing, with J. Lo and Steven Tyler replacing Ellen and Kara.
The appearance by Barack Obama on The View was mostly light, and sparked criticism from many, including former Gov. Sarah Palin.

Melissa Rycroft: Pregnant!

While the supposed baby news of Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom has not actually been addressed by the couple, there’s no doubt about this one:

Melissa Rycroft is pregnant!

“It was a shock. We weren’t even trying,” the former Bachelor winner, who married insurance agent Tye Strickland in December, tells Us Weekly.

“It’s the most wonderful surprise in the world. It’s such a blessing.”

Blessed she may be, but the co-host of ABC’s Bachelor Pad says starting a family was the last thing on her mind. Someone forgot to tell Tye that.

Tye and Melissa Rycroft Strickland are starting a family!

“He wanted to have kids right away, and I was laughing at him going, ‘No, not ready!’” Melissa Rycroft said. “He’s actually cried more than I have.”

Rycroft says that her solid relationship with her man has helped her stay calm: “Tye is caring, he’s funny. He’s going to be a great dad.”

Interestingly, she says she’s hoping for a boy, while Tye wants a girl. Either way, “We’re going to find out as soon as we can,” she says.

Melissa, who received the final rose from Jason Mesnick during the 2009 season of The Bachelor, only to have him break up with her for Molly Malaney (who he later married), is “eating everything in sight” and may “gain 90 pounds.”

Vienna Girardi is a Stalker, Jake Pavelka is a Fame Whore: The Bachelor Stars’ Camps Trade Barbs

“Sometimes love just isn’t enough in a relationship.” – Jake Pavelka

We don’t even have a joke for this moving quote, but The Bachelor star may be right. Especially if your fiancee is a nut job stalker, which he can attest to.

Sources close to the couple say they weren’t too surprised to see Jake and Vienna break up, in large part because she didn’t give him a whole lot of space.

“She was kind of stalkerish,” says a staffer who worked closely with Jake Pavelka on Dancing With the Stars. “She wanted to spend a lot of time with him.”

“Everywhere he would go, she would go. Rehearsals, photo shoots, practice. She was the only significant other there sometimes … it was a little weird.”

Another source says Vienna was pissed when Jake was cast on DWTS, saying she is “not a fan of reality TV” (LOL) or him being surrounded by women.

A Bachelor staffer echoed the sentiment: “I don’t think anyone really expected [Jake and Vienna] to last. It seemed like more of an infatuation than love.”

More specifically, Vienna went on the show because he was on it, and Jake was so smitten that he didn’t heed warnings from … well, the whole country.

In any case, it all unraveled amid rumors of Vienna cheating with Gregory Michael, which she denies. Moreover, her stepmom calls Jake a fame whore.

Oh yes. To hear her family tell it, Vienna Girardi was the one who out because of Jake’s undying love for the spotlight. NOTE: They met on reality TV.

Her stepmom Lisa also says her relationship with Jake Pavelka ended last night around 6 p.m., and the breakup took place over the phone! Weak, J.

Whose side are you on?

Hold the phone, there’s plenty more from Vienna’s camp …

According to her family, Vienna felt that Jake constantly abandoned her for photo shoots and other media events … instead of building a foundation.

Every reality TV fairy tale needs one of those.

Vienna adamantly denies ever cheating on Jake, despite earlier reports Jake was convinced she was “stepping out” on him with that dude from Greek.

Girardi’s family wasn’t done either, with her family members telling TMZ that Jake is a total fraud who was only motivated by TV ratings and not love.

Quoth the stepmom: “I don’t think [Jake] ever loved her … I think he picked her because she is a dramatic person and it was good for the ratings.”

She also said that despite his public love-fests, “In real life, they never kissed, didn’t have a romantic relationship and he never said he loved her.”

If that’s true, he is definitely the biggest fraud of all time. One thing is for sure, in any event – he won’t be holding on to any five-figure parting gifts.

Vienna gave her engagement ring back to Jake when she moved out of his place this weekend, but that $50,000 rock will be headed back to ABC.

Her stepmom says Vienna ditched Jake with a goodbye note … and the 3 carat Neil Lane diamond he used to pop the question on The Bachelor.

Sources close to the show say Jake is required to give the ring back to the production company, and only keeps it if they end up getting married.

Decent odds for the show … 13/14 total, and even Jason Mesnick probably had to buy his own for Molly Malaney after dumping Melissa Rycroft.

Bachelor Pad Cast: "All-Stars" Revealed!

Some of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette cast members from seasons past are ready to compete for fame and money on TV – only out in the open this time!

Looking for love on a dating show. Vying for $250,000 on a reality TV competition. It was only a matter of time until someone combined these concepts.

ABC’s The Bachelor / The Bachelorette series Bachelor Pad brings together a group of heavyweights to compete in team and individual challenges for money.

Calling them “All-Stars” may be a bit of a stretch, seeing how early some were eliminated by their season’s star. Then again, the whole thing is a stretch.

Memorable faces rejected by Jake Pavelka, Jillian Harris and Ali Fedotowsky just this year will be leading the way, with a handful of peeps from past years too.

Wes, Crazy Dave, Crazy Michelle, Jesse Sulidis (who apparently plays a role this season, according to The Bachelorette spoilers) and sweet Tenley are back.

So many others, too. Remember Kiptyn and Jesse from Jillian’s season? They seemed like such good guys. Apparently Reid was not available to join in?

Which Controversial Past Contestants Will Reside in the ‘Bachelor Pad’?

It is “The Bachelor”‘s version of an all-star game when fan favorites and notorious villains from past seasons of ABC’s hit dating game come together under one roof to compete for a $250,000 grand prize and a second chance at a love connection. The series, hosted by Chris Harrison and former bachelorette Melissa Rycroft, brings together 19 of the most unforgettable characters from seasons’ past living together in the “Bachelor Pad” mansion. Each week they’ll compete in challenges for immunity and the opportunity to go on a date with contestants of their choice. Melissa Rycroft to Co-Host Bachelor Pad

A little over a year after being dumped by Jason Mesnick on the “After the Final Rose” special, Melissa Rycroft is heading back to The Bachelor mansion.

Not to find love this time – she’s happily married to Tye Strickland, in fact – but to co-host Bachelor Pad, ABC’s new spin-off featuring past contestants.

We kid not, this is a real show.

Joining Melissa Rycroft for co-MC’ing duties will be a man who needs no introduction, venerable Bachelor and Bachelorette host-pimp Chris Harrison.

“I’m excited.” Rycroft says. “It’s fun. It’s a brand new experience for me. I’ve never been on that side but I’m anxious. I’m excited and ready to start.”

The gorgeous Melissa Rycroft made the finals of Dancing with the Stars and has been a correspondent for Good Morning America since her Bachelor appearance.

The show, which has already started filming, will feature an all-star reunion of “some of the most unforgettable contestants and suitors,” says ABC.

Two words, ABC: Wes. Hayden. Make it happen.

The gang will live together in the mansion as they compete in a series of challenges and dates for a chance at winning $250,000 and perhaps more.

Could another shot at love await any of these hotties? ABC couldn’t care less, as long as it has a Bachelor franchise installment for every season now.

Newlywed Melissa Rycroft is Going to the ‘Bachelor Pad’

She may be married to longtime love Tye Strickland, but that’s not stopping former “Bachelor” contestant Melissa Rycroft from mixing it up with the single men and women of the “Bachelor Pad.” Rycroft is signed on to co-host alongside Chris Harrison in the new ABC show that takes previous contestants from “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette” and puts them under one roof, People.com reports. “It’s fun. It’s a brand new experience for me,” Rycroft says of the show. “I’ve never been on that side, but I’m anxious. I’m excited and ready to start.” The show will feature contestant favorites from “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette,” and will have the cast mates competing for $250,000 and another shot at love. “Bachelor Pad” premieres August 9 on ABC.

Four years to the day. That’s when The Hollywood Gossip entered the celebrity gossip world with a single news article. 6/6/06. You couldn’t plan it any better.

Fittingly, Lindsay Lohan was the topic of our first-ever story. What a wild ride it’s been since – for Lohan and her fellow celebs, for our entire staff and for readers.

To commemorate our four birthday, THG takes a look back at the stars who generated the most buzz on our site for each of our 48 months covering celeb gossip.

Not surprisingly, our girl has made a big splash again lately …

Our journey began with LiLo, whose ankle-monitor antics continue to this day.

June 2010: Miley Cyrus. The month is still young, but Miles already looks to have it wrapped up with her edgy, unwilling-to-be-tamed comments and behavior.

May 2010: Kendra Wilkinson. Before she was one of the Girls Next Door, she was a sex tape star. Only now did she leak the tape and feign heartbreak, though.

April 2010: Lindsay Lohan. One of the great train wrecks hit a new low, partying like crazy, bailing on a court date and later being slapped with ankle monitor.

March 2010: Jesse James and Michelle McGee. A poor man’s Tiger, Jesse James’ and Bombshell’s cheating ways – and Nazi pics – were scandalously exposed.

February 2010: Vienna Girardi. The controversial contestant on The Bachelor shocked the world by winning Jake Pavelka’s heart – and by still being with him.

January 2010: Robert Pattinson. His popularity is always high. This month, it wasn’t a testament to any particular event, but to his widespread, mass appeal.

December 2009: Tiger Woods. The fallout from his Thanksgiving night car crash spilled over into the whole next month, with a dozen-plus affairs coming to light.

November 2009: Rachel Uchitel. One of the biggest sex scandals in history crushed the image of the world’s #1 athlete. Rachel Uchitel was Tiger’s #1 mistress.

October 2009: David Letterman. The talk show host’s affairs with women who worked for him in the past caused big controversy and nearly ended his marriage.

September 2009: Jon and Kate Gosselin. The reality TV couple’s already high-profile, public split reached new heights with dueling lawsuits and wars of words.

August 2009: Lady Gaga. Of all the crazy tales out there in the gossip world, the Lady Gaga hermaphrodite pictures and rumors may have the post staying power.

July 2009: Michael Jackson. The King of Pop’s death June 25 took over the web for weeks as details of his demise unfolded and a new generation of fans was born.

June 2009: Spencer Pratt. His marriage to Heidi on the season finale of The Hills and a ridiculous stint on I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here were quite a combo.

May 2009: Rihanna. Chris Brown beat her up months earlier, but it was mysterious, unexplained nude photo leak that sparked even more interest in the superstar.

April 2009: Carrie Prejean. Miss California finished second in the Miss USA pageant, but first in posing for topless photos, and uttering absurd hypocritical quotes.

March 2009: Adam Lambert. Speculation swirled about the sexuality of the eventual American Idol runner-up for months. But no one ever questioned his talent.

February 2009: Melissa Rycroft. She won over The Bachelor – and millions of fans after Jason Mesnick chose her, only to dump her for runner-up Molly Malaney.

January 2009: Natalie Dylan. Shameless publicity stunts are common in this era, but auctioning off one’s virginity to the highest bidder? That was a new one.

December 2008: Kim Kardashian. Doing nothing noteworthy but always where celeb gossip blogs and photographers can find her, we can’t help but kover Kim.

November 2008: Adrienne Bailon. Nude photos of the Cheetah Girl were leaked but turned out to be a total farce engineered by her agent to gain publicity.

August-October 2008: Sarah and Bristol Palin. The Republican V.P. nominee Sarah Palin dominated news, as did her teen daughter, revealed to be pregnant.

The Palins were, and still are always good for a story.

July 2008: DeAnna Pappas. The Bachelorette‘s pick of Jesse Csincsak over Jason Mesnick drew outrage. Months later, Jason would cause similar controversy.

June 2008: Jaymes Foster. News that Clay Aiken knocked up a middle-aged woman named Jaymes rocked his fans. In September of that year, he came out.

May 2008: Shayne Lamas. This bleach-blonde airhead was a lock to spark celebrity gossip interest – get dumped within weeks – after winning The Bachelor.

April 2008: Audrina Patridge. The Hills star was already becoming a big deal but a nude photo “scandal” took interest in her to a new level. Ah, “leaked” pics.

March 2008: Ashley Dupre. We deal with lots of attention whores, but few actual whores. The sexy call girl New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer was boning fit the bill.

February 2008: David Archuleta. David, 17 going on 11, won the hearts of millions on American Idol and defeated all but one singer in pursuit of the crown.

January 2008: Adnan Ghalib. Who? The paparazzo who dated Britney Spears, natch! Their relationship fizzled when she was involuntarily hospitalized. Sad.

December 2007: Jamie Lynn Spears. When Britney’s lil’ sis announced she was carrying Casey Aldridge’s baby at age 16, well, we weren’t really surprised.

November 2007: Kim Kardashian. We knew that booty was somethin’ from the way Ray J rode it. But we’re surprised how far she’s ridden her 15 minutes.

Kim has kome so far since the Ray J daze. Her sisters are famous too.

October 2007: Heidi Montag. Speidi engaged! Heidi and Spencer call off wedding! Heidi and Spencer pose for bikini pics! You name it, we wrote about it.

September 2007: Camila Alves. Upstaging a Vanessa Hudgens nude photo scandal is no small feat, getting engaged to Matthew McConaughey will do that.

August 2007: Spencer Pratt. A master manipulator, Spencer Pratt has always known he’s a celebrity gossip magnet and exploited it like the best of them.

July 2007: Amy Polumbo. This beauty queen’s allegedly “raunchy” pics captivated us. Unfortch, the pics were quite vanilla Spread eagle in jeans? Poor.

June 2007: Joslyn Morse. Baseball star Alex Rodriguez was labeled “Stray-Rod” after his affair with a stripper who may or may not have an Adam’s apple.

May 2007: Lauren Conrad. Beautiful without trying too hard, The Hills star has been a fixture on The Hollywood Gossip since its inception. We heart her!

April 2007: Olivia Mojica. An American Idol reject whose sex tape brought her back to prominence took the traffic crown from another hopeful. Poetic.

February & March 2007: Antonella Barba. She kind if sucked on American Idol … and in pics surfacing online of her going to town on some schmoe.

January 2007: Britney Spears. Fresh off a split from K-Fed, Brit went on a binge of drinking, random sexual encounters and clubbing with no pants.

It’s really a shame this friendship fizzled fast.

December 2006: Paris Hilton. Disease-riddled. Useless. Always in the news. Back in the day, you could always count on the ho-tel heiress for gossip.
