Welcome to The Hollywood Gossip’s Week in Review.

• She’s being treated like a common criminal in the slammer, but Lindsay Lohan may be set free as early as this weekend. She’s lobbying for time with family before being shipped off to rehab following her release – don’t bet on it.
• A major shakeup at American Idol leaves Randy Jackson the last judge standing, with J. Lo and Steven Tyler replacing Ellen and Kara.
• The appearance by Barack Obama on The View was mostly light, and sparked criticism from many, including former Gov. Sarah Palin.
• In other Palin news, Bristol is reportedly pissed over a report that Levi put it to Lanesia Garcia and may become a baby daddy again!

• Tiffany came to the defense of Miley. Yes, Tiffany.
• People really don’t like Scott Disick as a general rule.
• Jersey Shore is back, and better/worse than ever.
• The Bachelorette ending(s) spark debate among fans.
• Mocienne Petit Jackson claimed to be MJ’s love child.

Most people have Bieber Fever, but some say he’s a sinner.

• Baby news about six months from today: Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr (rumored); Melissa Rycroft and Tye Strickland (confirmed).
• Couples: Alex Beh is dating Jennifer Love Hewitt; Kroy Biermann is dating Kim Zolciak; Eddie Cibrian is moving in with LeAnn Rimes.
• Wedding Bells: Linda Hogan and Charlie Hill are engaged. Hey, at least he can drink at his own wedding to the 50-year-old. Barely.

A former USC Trojan, football star Matt Leinart may be putting his former mascot to use in a different way with Ali Fedotowsky … if you know what we mean!

We mean sex. Protected style.

Rumors are circulating that The Bachelorette star does not find love and happiness and picks no one the finale of the reality show Monday night.

Might this be further proof?

According to Star, when Ali met the Arizona Cardinals quarterback at a July 15 at a charity event, sparks flew after they talked “by themselves.”

By the end of the night, the jock scored Ali’s digits: “Matt finally asked for Ali’s phone number and she happily gave it to him,” a witness says.

“He promised that he’d call her; she must be over the moon about catching the eye of such a hot guy!” Well, unless she’s engaged, of course.

There are rumors if her rejecting both guys, or that Roberto Martinez proposes, but they didn’t make a go of it and she’s already single again.

We also theorize that perhaps she still hasn’t decided.

Guess we’ll find out soon enough … and we may very well be surprised. But we would be astonished if Matt Leinart were at all a factor in this.

In news almost as shocking as The Bachelorette scripting and filming multiple endings, Amy Fisher has announced the official start to her porn career.

She’ll produce and star in four movies for Dreamzone Entertainment (which lists their new employee as possessing “incredible D-cup size breasts”), beginning with The Making of Amy Fisher: Porn Star.

Says the woman who rose to fame in 1992 for sleeping with Joey Buttafuoco and then shooting his wife in the face, a crime for which Fisher spent seven years in prison:

“Our society loves sex. It feels so good and we should enjoy it. Sex is beautiful, powerful, and simply put, no one has the right to tell me what I can or can not do with my own private parts. This time, I get to make the choices on what kind of movies I want to make.”

Fisher is taking a jab at her ex-husband with that last comment, as he released a sex tape in 2007 that she claimed to play no role in releasing.

Fast forward three years, though, and Amy has taken a classic saying and turned it around a bit: if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em… while naked and open for business.

With just a few days remaining until The Bachelorette season finale, speculation is still running rampant about what its star, Ali Fedotowsky, decides.

Does she choose Roberto Martinez or Chris Lambton? Does she reject both remaining suitors in what would amount to a huge emotional letdown?

Whatever the case, the show has done well keeping it under wraps. All Bachelorette spoilers we know are the same ones we’ve known for weeks.

Perhaps this is a testament to the greatness of Reality Steve, god among spoiler fiends for several seasons and perennial thorn in Mike Fleiss’ side.

While he stands by what he says happens (follow the link above to read about it), he admits he has been stymied somewhat regarding the finale.

There’s even a theory circulating that producers went so far as to film two different episodes of the After The Final Rose special as a smokescreen.

Are Ali Fedotowsky and The Bachelorette plotting a real surprise?

Ratings for the show have not exactly suffered as a result of spoilers leaking, but just the same, ABC would likely nix this occurrence if possible.

Would they really go to such lengths, though?

The lack of a single shot of the final rose ceremony in any preview to date is also strange. Could it be there is no ceremony or final rose doled out?

This theory is supported by Ali’s vague comments about her tough decision, being content with what she did, etc. But it could be part of the act.

Is it possible that, just maybe, producers and Ali Fedotowsky pushed the decision back until the After The Final Rose special, which is being secretly taped this week, and no one knows the outcome because it hasn’t been decided yet?

That’s just our hypothesis, but longtime host and pimp Chris Harrison said that something happens on the finale “unlike anything we’ve seen before.”

We’ve seen people pick no one and go home. This would be unprecedented.

In any case, who do you think Ali should choose?

Well, for one thing, instead of coming home from work and flipping on SportsCenter, I now find myself on the couch next to my wife “enjoying” the latest episode of The Bachelorette.

After weeks of watching one ill-fated suitor after another leave the show broken-hearted I’ve started to wonder: Will any of these contestants end up needing to hire a guy like me?
Will Chris or Roberto- – whoever is lucky enough to get the final rose on Monday — leave a job, pack up and move, only to realize a month later that things just aren’t going to work out?
If the happy couple does end up breaking off their hasty, made-for-TV engagement, who gets the ABC-funded diamond ring?

And what if one of the unlucky 24 rejects takes his unceremonious departure from the show a bit too personally and attempts to avenge himself on the unwary bachelorette or even one of his fellow competitors?

Illinois provides answers to some of these questions with its aptly named Breach of Promise Act.

Under the Act, poor Chris (or Roberto) may recover actual damages resulting from a broken engagement, including the costs of relocating, putting down all of those pricey wedding vendor deposits, and foregone wages or lost business profits readily attributable to the break up.

It gives the jilted fiancé some protection from his wayward bride-to-be.

Whether or not that will encourage the lucky winner to beseech his Bachelorette for her hand remains to be seen, of course.

And what about that sure-to-be-extravagant engagement ring?
While I’m sure ABC will reclaim what’s rightfully theirs if the match-made-in-heaven falls through, real couples often don’t have such clear-cut contractual obligations to guide them.
Instead, Average Joe may wind up taking his Average Jane to court to reclaim his several-thousand dollar investment.

If Jane was the one to break-off the engagement (perhaps upset that Joe wouldn’t dutifully give up his Monday Night Football in favor of Dancing with the Stars?), or if they mutually decide to separate (the Bears-Packers rivalry just runs too deep), he would be in luck: The law says she must return the ring.

But if Joe were the one to end things the question of who gets the ring becomes more uncertain. Different states have different laws.

Generally there are two outcomes. Some state statutes make it clear the man should not benefit from ending the engagement by regaining the ring. Others take a “no-fault” approach and the ring is returned to the purchaser regardless of who ended it.

Broken promises and engagement rings aside, there’s always the possibility one of the many men rejected on reality TV could exhibit violence toward the bachelorette — or even other contestants.

The recent ‘Men Tell All’ episode on The Bachelorette made it clear there is little love lost between several of the contestants. Fortunately, temporary restraining orders exist as a way to prevent likely altercations before they happen — or to keep them from happening again.

It’s a short-term order that can later be extended if a judge decides the guys can’t be trusted within a fifty-foot radius of each other.

As for me, it looks like marriage may have added a bit of reality to my TV viewing habits. Now, I’m thinking about catching a few episodes of Ochocinco: The Ultimate Catch on VH1.

After all, it’s a reality show about love and football — how bad can it really be?

It took a tad more than two seasons, but Lisa Wu Hartwell finally got the memo: reality shows are not real.

With this finally understood, The Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member has walked away from the series that made her (semi) famous.

Sources confirm that Wu Hartwell left the Bravo show after a trio of season three episodes because “they basically wanted to script elements of Lisa’s life and make her amp up the drama. She wasn’t with that at all.”

Apparently, Lisa didn’t watch The Hills finale or every episode ever of The Bachelor. It’s all scripted, honey.

The third season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta premieres in October. Viewers will welcome attorney Phaedra Parks and Cynthia Bailey to the cast this fall.

The Bachelorette season finale is just days away, and viewers are going nuts trying to figure out if Ali Fedotowsky picks Chris Lambton or Roberto Martinez.

Or, if you’re the type to believe The Bachelorette spoilers we’ve teased for weeks, she rejects both, and is single to this day. What does she have to say?

“I was trying to be smart and fall in love with my heart, but use my head too,” she told People in its new cover story of starring on The Bachelorette.

“Sometimes the right thing is the hardest thing to do, and it’s definitely hard to hurt somebody. No matter what happens in the end, I hurt somebody.”

Hmm. There’s that, and there’s Us Weekly, which is really going out of its way to convince us she’s engaged, despite offering absolutely no evidence.

Which is it – and if she is engaged, to whom? Is it true what other sources say, that Roberto proposes? If he does, are they still together now?

DIFFERENT STORIES: Ali’s engaged? Some beg to differ.

It’s worth noting that mere days before the final rose ceremony, no clips of her standing with either guy, or of the guy(s) walking toward her has been shown.

Was there no final rose ceremony? Was it filmed in secret to prevent the outcome from being leaked? Is ABC just bad at promoting its cash cow reality show?

Whatever the case, it’s definitely odd, since Chris Lambton and Roberto Martinez are both so popular. Even fans who prefer one or the other really like both.

Host-pimp Chris Harrison says the finale is “surprising” and “unlike anything in the history of the show.” “It’s true from the last chance dates,” he told E!

“And from those on into ‘proposal day,’ at the end. Everything is different than what our fans have seen in years past. People will be surprised. Whether it’s good or not, Ali’s happy with it and she’s sticking by it. It’ll be interesting.”

Hmm. After seeing her recently, Chris adds:

“She looked healthier, she looked happy. She had a smile on her face and a bounce in her step again. The season took a lot out of her. It was a rough road, but she’s good. She’s very happy and content with what she did.”

While the supposed baby news of Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom has not actually been addressed by the couple, there’s no doubt about this one:

Melissa Rycroft is pregnant!

“It was a shock. We weren’t even trying,” the former Bachelor winner, who married insurance agent Tye Strickland in December, tells Us Weekly.

“It’s the most wonderful surprise in the world. It’s such a blessing.”

Blessed she may be, but the co-host of ABC’s Bachelor Pad says starting a family was the last thing on her mind. Someone forgot to tell Tye that.

Tye and Melissa Rycroft Strickland are starting a family!

“He wanted to have kids right away, and I was laughing at him going, ‘No, not ready!’” Melissa Rycroft said. “He’s actually cried more than I have.”

Rycroft says that her solid relationship with her man has helped her stay calm: “Tye is caring, he’s funny. He’s going to be a great dad.”

Interestingly, she says she’s hoping for a boy, while Tye wants a girl. Either way, “We’re going to find out as soon as we can,” she says.

Melissa, who received the final rose from Jason Mesnick during the 2009 season of The Bachelor, only to have him break up with her for Molly Malaney (who he later married), is “eating everything in sight” and may “gain 90 pounds.”

She’d still look great. Congratulations, Melissa and Tye!

The Men Tell All special is always bad, but The Bachelorette’s penultimate episode was even more useless this time than in seasons past. What a waste.

How can a reunion special for this season not feature Justin “Rated R” Rego or Frank Neuschaefer, two of the most notorious villains in show history?!

Instead, it was pure filler. Seriously, there is no need for this. Edit it down, guys. This is coming from devoted followers of the show, too. Think about it.

Because we love you anyway, here’s THG’s +/- review …

“Justin chose not to be here tonight.” – Chris. Can’t imagine why. Minus 7.

Plus 4 for this tidbit: Justin was busted via Facebook after girlfriend Jessica Spillas noticed Kimberly Kerekes posting something romantic on his “wall.” LOL. Side note: Become a fan of THG on Facebook – we would never cheat on you!

Craig, on Rated R: “His goal was to make it to the final three and sabotage everything she wanted to do for his own public benefit. It’s just one of the worst things you can do to a human being.” Definitely a crime against humanity. Plus 3.

Ali Fedotowsky had little to say about Justin, other than “I’m proud of the way I handled it. I didn’t want to shed one tear.” Minus 2 … give us more dirt!

Kasey hopped into the hot seat. He’s still krazy, but mostly just annoying, and not the person we really kared to hear konfessions from. Minus 5.

Kirk seemed to be the fan favorite, and rightfully so. Plus 3.

Kirk, on the previous week’s exit by Frank Neuschaefer: “It was frustrating because Frank knew how I felt about Ali … I came here to meet Ali with no thoughts about anybody else.” Indeed. Minus 5 for not showing your face, Frank!

Without giving away any Bachelorette spoilers, the finale teaser seems to suggest, or at least leave the door open for the possibility that Ali will not pick either Chris Lambton or Roberto Martinez, which would he hella weak. Minus 10.

Not as weak as Bachelor Pad, which looks like a menagerie of the worst people in previous Bachelor and Bachelorette seasons. Eh, we’ll watch it. Wash.
