Chelsea Clinton and Marc Mezvinsky: Married!

Chelsea Clinton, who Americans first got to know nearly two decades ago as the young daughter of President Bill Clinton, is now a married woman.

The lucky man is longtime boyfriend Marc Mezvinsky.

Wearing a dress by Vera Wang (a family friend who was present), the former First Daughter, 30, wed the investment banker, 32, in Rhinebeck, N.Y.

An interfaith ceremony for Chelsea, who is Methodist, and Marc, who is Jewish, was conducted by Rabbi James Ponet and the Rev. William Shillady.

Saturday’s wedding was attended by 400 friends and family members, most notably Bill and Hillary Rodham Clinton (wearing Oscar de la Renta).

The former President and current Secretary of State released a statement: “Today, we watched with great pride and overwhelming emotion as Chelsea and Marc wed in a beautiful ceremony at Astor Courts, surrounded by family and close friends.”

“We could not have asked for a more perfect day to celebrate the beginning of their life together, and we are so happy to welcome Marc into our family.”

“On behalf of the newlyweds, we want to give special thanks to the people of Rhinebeck for welcoming us and to everyone for their well-wishes on this special day.”

The guest list did not include Oprah Winfrey or President Obama, who joked on The View about his snub, but did feature Ted Danson, Mary Steenburgen, Madeleine Albright, and a handful of congressmen and other prominent Democrats.

Rhinebeck, a beautiful, small town in upstate N.Y., was swarmed all week by paparazzi and national media trying to catch a glimpse of the festivities.

Everybody understandably wanted to see how the teenager who grew up in the White House blossomed into a blushing bride – and with good reason.

Chelsea Clinton and Marc Mezvinsky live in New York City and have dated since 2005, although they have been friends since they were teenagers.

Chelsea Clinton and Marc Mezvinsky Tie the Knot!

Former first daughter Chelsea Clinton has married longtime boyfriend Marc Mezvinsky! The nuptials took place Saturday evening at the lavish Astor Courts estate in Rhinebeck, New York, where the couple exchanged vows before hundreds of guests. Clinton’s famous parents – former President Bill Clinton and current U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton — were by their daughter’s side for the “I Dos.” The proud parents released the following statement to “The Insider”: “Today, we watched with great pride and overwhelming emotion as Chelsea and Marc wed in a beautiful ceremony at Astor Courts, surrounded by family and their close friends. We could not have asked for a more perfect day to celebrate the beginning of their life together, and we are so happy to welcome Marc into our family. On behalf of the newlyweds, we want to give special thanks to the people of Rhinebeck for welcoming us and to everyone for their well-wishes on this special day.” After the ceremony, the wedding reception was in full swing with the sounds of the Diana Ross dance tune “I’m Coming Out” echoing across the Hudson River. Mezvinsky, an investment banker, is the son of former U.S. congressman Ed Mezvinsky, 73, and former Rep. Marjorie Margolies. The couple announced their engagement last November via email. Their happy announcement read, “We’re sorry for the mass email but we wanted to wish everyone a belated Happy Thanksgiving! We also wanted to share that we are engaged! We didn’t get married this past summer despite the stories to the contrary, but we are looking toward next summer and hope you all will be there to celebrate with us. Happy Holidays!”

Chelsea Clinton‘s star-studded nuptials are underway right now at the exclusive Astor Courts estate in Rhinebeck, New York. Bill Clinton Arriving at Chelsea’s Wedding

A presidential motorcade is on its way to the site of Chelsea Clinton‘s nuptials, and we’re told that the V.I.P. passenger aboard is none other than Chelsea’s dad, former President Bill Clinton. Guests Heading to Chelsea Clinton’s Wedding

With Chelsea Clinton and Marc Mezvinsky‘s wedding expected to get underway in about two hours, their guests are on the go aboard party busses, and we’ve got the details. At 4:45 p.m. EST the party busses arrived at a security check point en route to Astor Courts, the scenic Hudson River estate where the nuptials are expected to take place. On Friday, Astor Courts was reportedly ramping up its wedding preps by installing two helicopter landing pads on its grounds.

Heidi Montag Files For Divorce; Spencer Pratt Calls Marriage a "Show" For The Hills

Ever since the first reports of Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt splitting up, Hills fans understandably assumed wondered if it was another big PR hoax.

Looks like it isn’t.

Almost two months after the plastic princess went to court seeking legal separation from the puppet master, the reality star has filed for divorce.

Heidi Montag cites the usual “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the pair’s split in a divorce petition filed in Santa Monica, Calif., Court.

“Heidi has amended her petition for separation and has filed a petition for dissolution of marriage from Spencer Pratt,” attorney Jodeane Farrell said. The couple has agreed they would like their divorce to be finalized in a timely manner.”

Hopefully Spencer Pratt finds comfort in his beloved crystals.

Adding that terms will be hashed out in an out of court settlement, Farrell said “both parties are amicable with each other and finalizing the divorce.”

The couple staged a sham wedding in Cabo in 2008, then tied the knot for real in April 2009 at a church in Pasadena, Calif., appearing happy.

Things went downhill fast, however.

Heidi Montag underwent 10 plastic surgery procedures in one day, fired Spencer as her manager, released terrible music, accused The Hills creator Adam DiVello of sexual harassment and became estranged from her family and so on.

For his part, Spencer Pratt has grown increasingly eccentric, and even admitted to being a fame whore and choosing his “career” over his wife.

Heidi Montag then and now. Enough said.

He echoed that sentiment yesterday to People.

“I love Heidi but our marriage was a show – it was part of The Hills world,” Pratt said after the divorce filing. “That world is on a sound stage.”

Referring to himself in the third-person, he adds: “It’s clear that reality TV-fame-loving Spencer Pratt does not fit with my ex-wife Heidi Montag’s ambitions for a motion picture actor/pop star career and being a single sex symbol for the world.”

“Some say if you can’t handle the heat get out of the kitchen, Well, Heidi couldn’t handle King Spencer’s fame so she got out of the marriage.”

Right. So basically, his stardom is just too enormous. Makes sense.

Bill & Hillary Clinton Smile Wide Outside Chelsea Clinton Pre-Wedding Bash

Dressed to impress and smiling wide, former President Bill Clinton and current Secretary of State Hillary Clinton were snapped outside a pre-wedding bash for their daughter Chelsea Clinton. The Clintons arrived to the Beekman Arms Inn in a black shuttle van Friday night, waving to cameras and cheering crowds. Roads were blocked off to make way for their arrival, and they entered the event shortly after guests arrived via shuttle. They left the soiree at about 11:40 p.m. “The Insider” has learned that guests enjoyed light snacks and desserts inside the bash and that the event did not include live music. Chelsea herself was not in attendance, and Mrs. Clinton was overheard saying the 30-year-old was spending the night with her friends. Chelsea is expected to tie the knot with fiance Marc Mezvinsky on Saturday night.

Chelsea Clinton Pre-Wedding Party Underway

Bill and Hillary Clinton have arrived to an event in Rhinebeck, New York Friday night in celebration of their daughter Chelsea‘s reported weekend wedding with Marc Mezvinsky, and “The Insider” has the details. The former president arrived in the side entrance of The Beekman Arms, wearing a tuxedo. The mother of the bride, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, arrived wearing a green, one-shoulder chiffon gown. The Clintons smiled and waved to cameras and cheering fans. Famous guests spotted arriving to the soiree include Diane Sawyer, former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright and Terry McAuliffe. The Beekman Arms, which bills itself as America’s oldest operating inn, is the site of a pre-wedding party to be attended by many of the Clintons’ wedding guests. A source on the ground nearby the inn tells us a gate has been set up around the building and its front windows have been covered. A rehearsal dinner for a smaller group of guests is also rumored to take place at the scenic Grasmere estate. Keep checking back with us this weekend as we remain on wedding watch!
