In IPSC/USPSA, steel targets count as 5 points.. It's essentially the same thing as getting an Alpha.. The steel does need to fall to be scored though :-)

I'd venture to guess Robbie knows what a ricochet is. That said, USPSA rules call for steel being 23 feet away from the shooter.  That looks like sufficient distance to me.
