Cont... Whether you're a civilian or current soldier, you need to contact the desired NG unit and ask about SF, the unit, and any upcoming SFREs. They might email you an application. Send it back and, if they like what they see, you might receive an invitation to their next SFRE. Kick ass and if all goes well you drill with them as they prep you to pass SFAS, send you to Airborne school and maybe Warrior- or Advanced Leader Course. Then you are sent to the rest of SFQC.

For National Guard, some states' NG SF units hold an annual Special Forces Readiness Evaluation (SFRE), which is a one day smoke session designed to see if invited military personnel (mostly from NG but some from active Army looking to go-Guard, maybe a few Marines or Sailors trying out, and some prior service guys too) would be a good fit for one of their NG SF teams. @naruto88uzumaki First, you have to be in good shape. For good measure, I would be near a 300 on your PFT. If you are still a civilian but looking to go the active Army then ask your recruiter for the 18X option. If you are already in the Army then you might need to wait until you are an E-4.
