@lovleelaura88 In the original story "A Scandal in Bohemia" Adler is NOT a love interest for Holmes at all. She was a former lover of a Bohemian King who was now married to a man named Norton. It clearly states in the story that Holmes had no feelings of love or romance for her. Because she was not only beautiful, but so smart and cunning that she outwitted Holmes in his quest to recover a compromising photograph of her and the king, he viewed her to be the only woman worthy of his admiration.
