I watched him sing 'Waist Deep In The Big Muddy' live on the Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour in the late 1960s. It was a parable for Johson's continued war in Vietnam. Sadly for American freedom, that controversial performance led eventually to the show's cancellation.

Pete believes in people being able to speak the truth without fear. That's a fundamental human freedom and something that's supposedly a fundamental freedom in this country.
Repugnantcans want freedom of speech, but only if you agree with them.
Long live Pete, Joanie, Dylan and all who speak for the people and not the corporations.
