@Internetpolice666 There's nothing about it in Wikipedia and I cannot find any press articles about it either. Source please...

@19Mellon73 I saw him mention it in interviews, and it's also written on Wikipedia and it appeared in the press. All the other version of The Office were officially sanctioned. But the German version turned it more into a sitcom. All the pregnant pauses and awkward pain of the original series are missing. That's what German comedy does for you.

@19Mellon73 Hell, it's the same plot, do you really think they've gone for it and thought: naahh, nobody will recognize it... Show me some proof until then...CLOWN

@Internetpolice666 Strange, seen interviews with Gervais about the office, as well as international versions and never heard him mentioning something like this. serched the web a bit and cant find anything that suggests otherwise. Still think you're a clown, sorry

@19Mellon73 Before you write crap...check out the details. "I can't go into details but yes there was an agreement reached and we are very happy with it. I must say I was very surprised when I saw the new unauthorised version. It's not like the Germans to just march in and take something that isn't theirs." Quote from Ricky Gervais after BBC threatened legal action. The US version (as others) was directly sanctioned and license...not just lifted. You ignorant tit.

@Internetpolice666 I have to admit that most of our mainstreem tv comedy shows are shit. But there are some good comedians in Germany.

@TelumehtarOriOn How could I not understand it...it's so banal and crude. It reminds me mostly of the stuff you found in the UK in the early 80s. Simple, situational and above all utterly dated when you re-watch it. Look at all these shows like Peep Show, The Office (which Germans stole and turned it into a crappy sitcom), The Mighty Boosh, Stewart Lee's Comedy Vehicle, 15 Storeys High. There's nothing like that in Germany at all. All very subtle, ironic and black.
