@courajiskid At the same time, with your front foot, pull upwards...it allows you to not be as forward on the bike. Having a lower gear ratio helps as well because you have to put less effort in and you can just do it by sitting on the saddle. Downside of course being that your top speed takes a big hit. I do it on a 46-17. I did Lands End to John O'Groats...bottom of England to the top of Scotland...fun stuff.
