beware, mistakes result in large amounts of FUN. (Ty so much for doing the vertical view, i've been looking up how to do it and all they give you is horizontal, way too hard to understand)

WOW, a 2D game like this has better water physics than almost all 3D things? That's insane. How could that possibly work x3

@jamesdl00 I have, in total, 10 Ghz. I don't know what my framerate is exactly, but basically every fortress I have resembles a bustling beehive (until something happens that starts to slow it down). =P Some players say that they get to know their dwarves on an individual basis because the game functions at a very slow pace and that users with better systems are oblivious to that depth of play. I sure am; I can barely keep track of them sometimes, let alone view all their personality pages.

@SilverStateMan ok I was exaggerating a bit... my laptop is 2.1 ghz and the game runs ok, but I really wish I had a 3.0+ ghz beast because I am obsessed with this game, and once I get a pop over 100, a framerate of 15 gets a bit boring...

@jamesdl00 No, you don't need a supercomputer -- just a decent one (anywhere above $2,000, unless you get your hands dirty). Regardless of your computer's ability, though, be it crap or top of the line, the game WILL still lag in certain instances (i.e., trying to drain the ocean out ooor having several kitty booms with a huge starting location size, etc.).

Fortifications are useful though because you don't need to premake them, mine out the space, and then build them. If your nuts about security then smoothing and carving out a fortication is probably preferable to making a breach that won't be plugged till one of your lazy dwarves gets round to it

@redoutlander Fortifications reduce the flow rate of liquid Bars block all creatures except vermin and other small creatures(like fish) Grates block all creatures

room size collapse is broken I think you can make rooms any size
