before i just drove to the guy at the knitting store and asked him to cast on for me..... then I drove back..............messed up........drove there again............you get the picture.

@TechnologyFML You can just let it drop while you carry on knitting - it'll be stable. You will need to sew it in when you've finished - if you just cut it off it'll unravel at the bottom.

For the loose end (the end not connected to the rest of the yarn) that's left after casting on, is there supposed to be another knot or something to secure it or am I supposed to just let it drop and it'll be stable?
