When you hear the first fourteen seconds of the Intro to Space 1999 in the future,look up to the sky. That is the Third Angel on the way.

@meatmog source tv.ign,
The cult classic Space: 1999 is making comeback -- and a leap forward, via Space: 2099, as it was recently revealed that ITV Studios America and HDFILMS have begun work on a new incarnation of the 1970s TV series.

I think they blew the series budget on the theme tune.

@KaitainCPS you can`t kill the 70`s by travelling in time. the Doctor and U.N.I.T will foil your evil plans!

@thanqualthehighseer
I'm writing a screenplay in which a robot is sent back in time to kill the inventor of the wah wah pedal, and thereby destroy the 1970s.

the funkist theme of all time.

in answer to the poster hearing rumours of a remake of this show: you may be confusing this with the UFO remake currently in development. The 2 series are linked in so much as a second season was planned of UFO after getting good numbers in the states. unfortunately the numbers dropped off and Lew Grade got nervous. The moonbase episodes had rated well so season 2 was to be more set in space in an expanded moonbase however with it's cancellation. Gerry re pitched the idea : Space 1999

@Tuxnician That happens too many TV dramas where you have internal politics that messes it up for the viewer.

@chestemd Yes I think its on DVD somewhere. Check out Amazon or E Bay for prices? It hasn't been on ITV4 for ages. |
