Yes, it is a horrible event to happen to anyone, even the bad guy in prison. As an 18- year employee of the Department of Corrections I feel it is our obligation to keep inmates free from sexual violence. Although I am not an officer I can assist staff in knowing what to look for on the specific characteristics on both the perpetrator and victims. It is our responsibility that we aid in the successful transition into the community. The penalty for serving time should never be rape!

@EyesOnly100 If the goverment allowed slaves, created Aids and crack, iniated wars and killed thousands in 9/11 why would they care about anyone in prison? Its really sad that in this society we still have diseases, homelessness, outrageous violence, starvation and what not. WE have more than enough money, food and products for everyone on earth to live comfortably. But the few rich on top believe they can only retain power by withholding it from everyone else.

i was raped for 3 years when i was locked up. at first i tried to fight but the more i fought the longer the raping was. so after awhile i just gave it up on my own.
