I was foolish regarding my honors ~ Willie is one amongst the greatest songwriters ~ all of the popular people ~ blue eyes or a train ~ to me ~ I'd be on that southbound Illinois Central monday morning line ... if I were just as noble. The train still runs, it seems .. but nothing seems as cool as it used to be, but still there is always a story to tell by someone, somewhere that is as original as the ongoing genius of the former persons. For me, I chose to work for big company. CRAZY !

Pullman porters were employees of the Pullman company. Very influent family involved in making streetcars and the like. There is still a 'Pullman' district in Chicago.

I enjoyed the comments. The highwaymen are exceptional musicians. Don't be concerned with the negative comments. I first listened to music on underground radio. Everyone's on the bandwagon now, since it is SOO available. Music has become way too polluted as a result. And to those interested, check out the young Steve Goodman who wrote this song. The live version is awesome. Granted, if it weren't for highwaymen type people, SG and his great song would have gone unnoticed. God bless AG,WN,JC ...
