@Raizo886 he wont let the truth affect his preconceved notions it is unconventional warfare after gen abrams took over in 68 we started fightingthe right kind of war and the vc were largly defeated the nva beat the south two years after the american congrees pulled the plug on supplies were being honest with the afgans they have to learn to stand on there own and they need recuit good solders

@killerjon12 No it wasn't a falure to begin with. the battle of ong than was a us defeat there were others. men die in war the mistake we made in veitnam was trying to win the war for them we had 500,000 warriors in veitnam in 68 leass than 40,000 in afganistian a place the size of texas. it is unconventional war and many of the lessons learned in veitnam like the CORDS program try actually reading a book occasionaly and learn before spoting off bout shit you know dick about

@killerjon12 it makes me laugh by now^^ it literally is 1:1 the 21st century vietnam. i guess the one thing they did learn from vietnam was that endless guerrilla warfare pays off the best to the ones supplying the weapons lol. anyways. they all seem to need some playground to test their big toys. might as well be in the middle east and not in the jungle. less demoralizing...

@sass225 I don't have to be born in age to know about it, i might not know a lot but i can tell u that Vietnam was a failure to begin with.Yes we won the battle but we still lose the war and that's all that matters.

@sass225 Al-queda had in fact been an enemy of the us since 93 first wtc bombing, the uss cole, the us embasies in africa that alqueda attacked. the 3000 killed in ny 9/11. Bin laden was supporting the taliban in exchange for having a safe base to operate out of.

After the fall of Kabul to the Taliban on September 27, 1996, Ahmad Shah Massoud and Abdul Rashid Dostum, two former archnemesis, created the United Front (Northern Alliance) against the Taliban that were preparing offensives against the remaining areas under the control of Massoud and those under the control of Dostum. The United Front included beside the dominantly Tajik forces of Massoud and the Uzbek forces of Dostum, quiet simply the taliban were never in complete control of afganistian |
