@LifeinSlowLane No one you've ever heard of in the mainstream at least. The chord progression in this song is absolutely one of the most original compositions in modern musical history, and I'll stand by that statement. It's incredible really. They actually hide the melody of the song until the last line of each verse, then they move into the melody of the chorus. It's very flirtatious to the ear.

Regarding Donald Fagan, I'm pretty sure he isn't blind, but he wears the dark shades and is doing a pretty good Ray Charles impersonation just about every time he gets up on the state. I would imagine that he has every intention of doing exactly this. He might even be channeling Ray Charles for all we know. |
