if you got that stuff from france then there is no wormwood in it, one of the only places you can still get absinthe made to the original recipe is the uk. it is illegal everywhere else

It's no longer illegal to make or use in the US.

Yeah, absinthe makes you hallucinate..its called getting drunk, nothing more. Same results from a cheap vodka..don't waste your money.

@TheMacSimi yeah, but it is known that artists (musicians, writers and painters) drank absinthe before working, maybe that's why they thought it was hallucinogenic, when they saw their drawings and music.

Re thujone: it is not a hallucinogen and it is not related to THC. High doses of thujone can cause seizures. Absinthe from the classic French period has been analysed and found to contain no more thujone than the currently available Lucid Absinthe Superieure (made in the traditional absinthe district of the Loire Valley, France under the direction of New Orleans absinthe expert Ted Breaux).

Absinthe is (as of 2008) legal in the U.S. and was never illegal here in Canada. Do not believe the hype. Absinthe is NOT and never has been hallucinogenic The negative publicity was a creation of the French wine industry resulting from absinthe outselling wine in France by 2 to 1 in 1905. This video is crap. And you should never dilute absinthe 6:1 (water to absinthe). Dilute it only until you no longer see the clear greenish line of liquid above the cloudy louche. That's usually 2:1.

Trippin on this stuff they say is an old wives tail. The Thujone is what COULD make you trip but test on the real stuff from the day had small amount's in it and not enough to do any harm (so they say). From what i've read it was banned for all the wrong reason's and no more harmfull than good ol'shine. So make yourself a pot still and find a recipe and distill away. It should be 130-150 proof and mixed 1:3. That's probley why people were trippin. Good job on the vid though. Look's yummy.
