@Eternitycomplex ..so what do you think about the upcoming film Prometheus.?
LifterC3 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
@Eternitycomplex agree with you all the way : )

@LifterC3 I understand your point. But I think that we have to think about when this movie was made too. It would have been nice to see the alien come out in full glory like the sequel did with the Alien Queen. But they decided not to in the first one because, without the technology or the budget, it would have come across like a guy in a suit, something they wanted desperately to avoid. and that would have destroyed the movie.

Anyone know of any other soundtracks that sound like this? Or just music in general

@mrprodigy83 but thanks for the decent response anyway.

@mrprodigy83 Well what i mean is... the suspense in this movie already failed me the second time i watched it.I still think its a epic movie, but only because i respect the hard work they put into it.The best part ( to me )was when they breached the alien space ship and found the fossiled space Jockey. Its even exciting the watch the second because its so bloody mysterious, but the alien... meh.. I already knew who it was gonna kill, where and when. and i also knew we werent going to see any of it.

@LifterC3 The movie was still epic for the time it was released. It put sci fi horror on a new level. I cant see an overkill of suspense. But tastes are differently ;-)

( continue )while i loved Alien dearly,it isnt my favorite of the franchise.Movies like Aliens and Predator had just the right amount of suspense.Like the invicible predator stalking the soldiers with heat-vision.It made the audience wonder what was hiding in the forrest. The pay-off was that we eventuelly discovered the Predator. + whats called a epic Boss-fight with it. In the end of Alien we still got to wonder, what exactly WAS the thing, where did it come from, why is it attacking them?

For me, the thing "Alien" lacked was a decent pay-off. Everyone seems to be loving it because of the suspense while i say Alien had a overkill of it. It worked great the first time i saw it, but the final encounter with Ripley in the escape was very... well... un-epic... we still didnt get a good look on it,and it behaved totally out of character for a xenomorph. The movie had TO MUCH mystery and TO MUCH monster hiding in the dark and TO LESS Mystery unraveling and monster coming OUT of the dark.
