I think Gideon Levy is a foolish turd. How this is possible? He's anti-semitic in my mind and should not be the spokesperson for anything.

@innyopti ja ja ja

Arab-Israelis have equal rights i Israel, even Carter says this!!!

it's true. It's probably M & W's most significant shortfalling in what otherwise is generally decent scholarship

Sounds like a bunch of Israeli lobbyists are commenting on this video. To say that Israel is a democracy is absurd. A democracy cannot disenfranchise millions of citizens under its occupation. How many lame arguments are you going to make?

really though...i've read J. Mearsheimer's book on offensive realism and steven walt's papers as well...and it's perplexing to see anyone accusing them of bad scholarship. It truely must be something new for them, that their integrity or qualifications as scholars would come under question.

Source: Israel Told US to Target Iran, Not Iraq
Gareth Porter
Israeli officials warned the George W. Bush administration that an invasion of Iraq would be destabilizing to the region, according to former administration official Lawrence Wilkerson.
Wilkerson notes that the main point of their communications was not that the US should immediately attack Iran, but that "it should not be distracted by Saddam Hussein" from a focus on the threat from Iran.

Israel is not only NOT a democracy, if such a thing even exists (it certainly doesn't exist in this country, where a ruling elite of freemasons basically calls the shots), it's an unabashedly racist state, in that it denies the right of many of its native inhabitants to their own land. I agree that Israel should definitely have sovereignty over all of historic "Palestine", but that doesn't give it carte blanche to dispense with the rights of Arabs, or any other non-Jews who inhabit that state.

These two guys are eminently sensible and reasonable.
Calls that they are anti-semitic or whatever is a little foolish (not to mention hysterical).
that said, the people saying the opposite, that there is a deep evil conspiracy going on on the side of Israel, are also being silly. |
