@LeftistUprising No, she's just holding it and pretending to pick at the strings because it is implausible that any woman could ever have any technical skill on the guitar.

Your opinion. Some people like to know more about the origins of a song and find that they appreciate it more. Doesn't make them wrong. (And, for what it is worth, she says it is about Dylan. People got the wrong idea because a quote from her book was taken out of context on wikiedia. You may not care, but you can just ignore those who do.)

@LeftistUprising
I suspect you wouldn't have asked that about a male musician. Yes, she is playing.

A fine song, done by an excellent singer, with lyrics that can apply to anyone, that has loved and lost. Anything you read into after that...it more your problem than anybody's else..that's my feelings on the subject. If it's about Bob Dylan, or her first husband, or Mumbo-Jumbo the great flying Spehegetti Monster...that's extraneous

yea i told this one guy that the new records name was a fear of a black tangent. and he was kinda offended and he was like "what, like i can't be down cause' i'm not a black guy?" i was like "no it's nothing like that, it's just, it's just..............

Is that really her playing the guitar?

By the way, The Anvil may have a Reading postcode, but it's in Basingstoke... good venue actually, saw Suzanne Vega there about a year ago....

a superb song. Have stumbled across this on Spotify artist radio this morning and then spent an hour or so trying to work out the fingerpicking on this and the (tuned down) version of the same song done by 'Blackmore's Night'... |
