I think the playing on this clip is better than the original recording, which sounds a little dull. The horns really spice it up. At the risk of understatement, McCartney really was a very good performer.

@DangusGuitars Wha? MUCH better with the Ric than that stupid Hofner.
Hofner -> Beatles. Rickenbacker -> Wings.

On this date in 1974 {Feb. 9th} "Jet" entered Billboard's Hot Top 100; eventually it would peak at No. 7 and spent a total of 14 weeks in the Top 100...
The record was the 5th in a string of 8 straight records by Mr. McCartney to make Billboard's Top 10; started with "Hi, Hi, Hi" {#10}, "My Love" {#1}, "Live & Let Die" {#2}, "Helen Wheels {#10}, then this record, "Band On The Run " {#1}, "Junior's Farm {#3}, and finally "Listen To What The Man Said" {#1}...

Paul seemed a lot happier now that he had the creativity control...why couldn't the Beatles have been this way?
MrCaporegime (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
