if water was actually becomes scarce in the U.S., it's price would be higher and people would use it less. And if water was actually expensive, then desalinating ocean water will become more profitable and there will be more water. But that assumes there is indeed more demand and more people in 2050. Most highly industrialized countries are DECREASING in population. The US only increases due to immigration, and Japan will become much smaller.

SammyBoi224: don't be an ignorant neo-malthus. The Earth has enough carrying capacity for 60 billion people. We produce too much food too cheaply in the US due to subsidies. People around the world starve because of the political and economic structure of their countries not because too many of them exist.

its not overpopulation, its the location of resources and water. In my country, the Netherlands, there is a lot of drinkable water refreshed every second by rivers comming from the Alps and Germany. Other country's dont have that good location.
