when you hear somebody say they have a air slide fifth wheel, it mean it move by itself when you press a buttom on the dash. they red and yellow things, is for when you are in park at the dock, and you don't wan't the truck to move, you press them, the in the red is for the truck ,and the one in the yellow is for the trailer.

The yellow knob is the spring brakes (parking brake) for the tractor and the red knob is the air supply (spring brake release) to the trailer wheels. You push the knobs in to release the brakes by air pressure. The pressure holds the brakes open (unlocked). When you depress the knobs you release the air which locks the brakes.

Hello there from the uk, The american volvo's are so sexy!!! the features are the same as the european and uk Volvo FH16,FH12 and FM13's
Im a driver my self and i noticed some things that im not sure of!! What are the red and yellow handles for on the dash as we dont have these handles on our trucks?? How does the air slide fith wheel work as our ones are fixed and bolted and if we want to move the f,wheel we have to get the garage to remove all the bolts and slide it!! How crap is that.
