at 3:32 just when you get out of the safe room there is a fence to the right. DON'T let the gnome go!!!!!!, if it falls near the fence he will go to the other side of the fence and you lost him + the achievement!!!!  and leave the gnome where he says, or a zombie (or even the survivors) could accidentally kick it out of the map!!!! trust me it happens :(

i was the only one going for this achievement my friends just hauled ass 2 the safe room i was only half way when they made it. then on the finale i had the gnome ran to the left stadium and the chopper goes to the right. i was freakin mad i go 2 get on the chopper face the tank with the gnome ends freakin terribly!! X(

@noname12327 I had bad luck too. I had gnome i was in copter i though it would stay in so i dropped it. It goes though to copter i go to get it I die and my friend laughs at me

@nazza128 i had it worse, a tank hit me while i was in the chopper with the gnome and when i went down i could see it slowly rolling out of the chopper then the cutscene started

I got this achievement while playing the healing gnome mutation. Fun Fact: Both gnomes will heal you.

I was the fourth episode and then jockey jumps in my neck and falling me down. Then I lost my Gnome i dont know where because its just disapear. LOL

you know what sucks? I attempted this achievement, I got the gnome to the end of dark carnival, I got on the chopper with my (real life, not xbox live) friend who was carrying the gnome, and right when the cutscene was about to start, he THREW the gnome OFF the copter, and I didnt get the achievement. I just about broke his arm in a fit of rage. and I havent played left 4 dead 2 since...still an awesome game though

wow... I would have thought that they would have just used the weapon switch button to drop the gnome at their feet instead of chucking it...
