You see it's the classic difficulty vs fun rule.
The better they are, the more boring it will be, because when you get better you win faster, when you're bad, you're both failing hard over and over and it looks cool.

This isnt as cool as every commercial,movie,anime and tv show made it out to be. Maybe if they didn't stop as soon as someone got a hit it would be more exciting. I mean theres no opportunity for the fencers to get into it.
