I have the same amp and LOVE the sound I'm getting with the 6L6 substitution. Did you upgrade and components like transformers. I'm worried about frying my amp.

I don't have a 6V6 based amp anymore (which is partly why I'm building my own version of a AA764 because I love 6V6 tubes), so I haven't heard either the JJ or the reissue TungSol 6V6 in person. But I've read they're both outstanding, especially for new production. Have you tried the Tung Sol 6V6 reissue? Supposedly it has super nice creamy distortion. Maybe if you decide to buy one, you can pop it in and crank it up and record a new vid :-).

No I like a 6V6 better. In fact I have several 6V6 tubes. I like RCA the best. I like the 6L6 for cleaner tones. The JJ 6V6S is like a 6L6 in tone, more bottom end.

Thanks again for the info, I really appreciate it. I like the 5751 clip for clean tone. Nice to be able to get a good overdrive tone with the 12AX7, and a clean tone with the 5751. You like the 6L6 better than a 6V6 for distortion tone? I'm partial to the 6V6 myself, at least for distortion tone...to my ears it has much better mids. Sounds more Tweed/Marshall to me.

yes on 10 and the Bass and Treble are on 8. The Raytheom 12AX7 really gets the low end tamed. I have another clip of the amp with a Raytheon 5751, it cleans the amp up and gives ita fatter tone.

Very cool, thanks. Is the volume dimed? And the vibrato is off right? Bass and Treble settings? Sorry for all the questions...I'm building my own amp based on the BF AA764 circuit (without vibrato). Great playing too by the way.

No mods, just used a 2x12 cab, a RCA 6L6GC and the key to taming the low end, a raytheon 12AX7.
