I think it's part 'feeling', and part practise. Before I can draw a character I have to study it first, and understand how it's constructed. But then it still takes quite a while before I can draw the character completely without a reference.

The thing that amazes me when watching you drawing is how do you get the correct size and proportion for every part of the character. Did you have to try a lot do get to this level of accurace?
