These buses all sucked! I am so glad the Orion VII OG CNGs and the New Flyer D40LFRs DE40LFs and DE40LFRs (and C40LFRs) replaced these starting in 2005.

I remember when I was little I still recognize that transmission. :)

When I started busfanning around 2005, I never noticed how awesome these buses were. Now that they're long gone, it's too late to get at least one ride on them. RIP =(

I remember driving these around DC as a operator before these dam high tech buses came in service.

Man I loved riding on that bus when I was small.Nice pic I loved the color scheme of the Metro buses back then now I don't like the color scheme.

That is, if you're talking about units #8971 to 8975. The 1988 Metro B's WMATA had that employed Cummins engines were units #9241 to 9269.

I think those 8900 had Cummins with Voith transmissions. They had a high truck style idle. You got a free back massage with the ride. :-)

Man those 6V92 Flxibles are the bomb. I really miss riding the ones that MARTA used to have
VincentGregory90 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
yeah i used to love the baby flxible-b's. I wish buses had longer life spans like subways do. If a bus had a 40 year life span instead of just 20 that would make my life. lol.

It could even be an 8900 series if 8900-8925 or 8950-8970, or a 9200 series if 9201-9239 or 9271-9289, or maybe it's even a 1989 Flxible Metro B 30', numbered from 5150-5184. |
