@DeltaSniperZRR I think it's about the working class satellites, not the middle class; People can't afford entertainment and the future looks pretty grim, as the town they live in is where they're stuck. "Black and White" refers I think to both the binarism of the tough-poor neighborhood (black/white, lesbian/straight, man u./man city, etc.) and the industrialism.
At least that's my take on it. Regardless of what Doves imagines the meaning, everyone has their own.
