I understand that this Jay Chou is new to directing and screen play. I think who ever tries to compare him to Steven Spielberg is ignorant. Every director starts out with little or no experience aside from which they got in film school. The only thing i noticed when checking this movie out was that it breaks the rule you never break in cinematography, and that is the 180 degree camera axis rule. Always shoot your scenes from that axis.

great movie. for someone to compare Jay to Spielberg is funny. this was Jay's first screenplay and directorial debut. he also wrote some of the music for it. it's very impressive.

@tinlunlau but this guy (Jay Chou) didn't even get to college, he only finished high school, not to mention he has any base knowledge about movie industry... well my point is not saying bad things about Steven, he's very good, we'll know that. I just want to provide a view that people shouldn't be so strict with Jay's movie and compared his with the professional ones, that's really not fair...

lol such an ignorant critic, jay chou professioned in music not directing. If you rate a persons worth like that then spielberg is better than jay chou if he made his jaws after a few grammies. You cant compare like that.

Again you are not being fair here. You have also to consider the expertise and the enormous production budget available in Hollywood compared to a very small budget that Jay Chou worked on.

again, not fair. Spielberg probably has studied for the directing for a long time, while Jay didn't even get to know it before he shoot this movie. Besides your comment seems too prejudiced, to say he has none of acting and directing... oh come on, who do you think you are to be so judgeable? A pro movie reviewer? He may not have much of them, but to totally deny its' existence is another thing. Give yourself a break from all these videos if you just can't see his advantages.
