I loved this show as a kid, and watched it in the 90's, cause of my mom. Looking back, the show was very mature, but I was probably allowed to watch, because it was a comedy. Burt was the best!

This stupid intro 00:40- keep playing in the background while I was f***ing my girlfriend...kind of gives me a boner when I hear it.

@AlleUndWir The part in which Jess was in heaven appeared in the 90 Min. Retrospective Editon of Soap & Bea Arthur was in it as an angel. It's not included in the DVD collection, but it SHOULD'VE. As far as I know, it was released in VHS that pops up on ebay once in a while.

Just the promo is better than any sitcom on TV in the last 15-20 years

@fliss69: True, plus there was "The Rockford Files" where people would leave different messages on Jim Rockford's answering machine in each ep.

@tallulah1961: I was born on the year too. The thing was this show caused a lot of controversy, because it looked sweet but was really subversive. Today, "Soap" is considered to be way before its' time.

I was born the year "Soap" premiered in 1977. I cannot believe people were so outraged by this show-it was just a spoof on soap operas! |
