The Illuminati believe the following - that they are not of this earth, essentially making them aliens. They also believe that 'humans' are not worthy of them. Via various 'mental umbillical chord' style visions by the 'gifted' folk - (revealing other dimensions etc) they claim they can attain immortality. But to do so, they have to enslave the populous, (i.e. the human race), gain some weird energy from the fear emitted by humans, giving them the secret to eternity. And that is basically it.
