"And you've thrown away the choice and lost your ticket,so you have stay on,but the drum beat strains of the night remain in the rhythm of the new born day" ! My wish sometimes thrown away the choice exchange for the notchoice. My favorite song in the masterpieces of the last 35 years,Brillant pianoplaying in the begin,by the way ! Thank's for posting!

@RondelayAOK I refuse to descend into that debate again :3 Suffice it to say that hearing voices in your head is usually not a good sign.

This has got to be the best song of the 70's. Piano was awesome, sax was awesome, the song itself was out of this world. The Year of the Cat, is a timeless classic that will be around for ever. Al Stewart is an great singer.

@TinySissyCheater Ah, how can someone who likes this song deny spirituality? It's part of the human condition. Listen to God's voice.

Back in the day when bands actually had muscians, and had to be creative. Today you can make any kind of sound you want via fancy software. Technology today can mask alot of bands or singers shortcomings.

I remember the first time i got lucky was to this song. My sister gave me the finest beejer a man could have hoped for. Not long after that she gave me her virginity in the back of our parents motorhome. God life was good then.
