Focus on Rita Moreno throughout the entire clip. She is absolutely awesome: an incredibly talented, charismatic, and sexy dancer/actress. Although the musical "West Side Story" is timeless, the movie itself isn't very good. But Rita rocks!

I met Rita Moreno in Park City Utah in 75. I was a bellman at a hotel ski resort. I moved her into her room. She was cute.

WST is patterned after ROMEO AND JULIET. The Jets and Sharks are a replacement for the Montagues and Capulets. Tony and Maria are Romeo and Juliet. Yes, the bigotry played a big part. Remember, the original B'way production (1957) and the film (1961) were done at the height of the Civil Rights Movement.
