Some of the finest animation and story telling ever made... why the hell is this not available on dvd? How is this racist or controversial? This is what Disney used to be. Now all their movies are written by focus groups.

I always laugh at; then Brer Fox takes the credit for thinking of the aforementioned briar patch :)

Yeah, featuring a black doing a minstrel role directly supporting the arguemnts for slavery & discrimination.
His lyrics come from a version of "Zip Coon" blackface song; blacface calls whites superior.
He says that the south after Civil War is just fine - so where's the kkk, the thousands of hangings, the re-instutted slavery of blacks under prison labour?
If you think that the "Lost Cause" mythology created by Confederate soldiers (repeated here) is black culture, ur deeply indoctrinated.

Quite so, but what do you think of the statement? Johnny Lee was great and very few people ever heard of him.

There is nothing racist about this. I can understand how people don't like the term "tar baby" ...but it actually does mean "Being in a difficult situation" and Uncle Remus is the one who made it up. Anyone who is saying they're offended by this need to grow up.
These tales come from black people and are a part of black culture in times past. To silence this film, would be to silence a part of black culture and brilliant story telling.
