Stockholm is the only true capital in the only truly functional region of today's World: Scandinavia. Like it or not, you'll never go back to where you came from and find a more prosperous and better organized way of life.

If you visit Sweden, steer clear of Stockholm. I don't know for sure about the rest of the country, but I can tell you for sure that people in Stockholm are the most and arrogant people I have ever met.

I wanted to go to Stockholm, almost bought a ticket but couldn't find any good hotel online, they were all overpriced and the ones that werent to expensive all had shared bathrooms???. fuck, im going to Italy.

Full of gay, none english speaking, arrogant, stupid and hating people. If you are going to visit Sweden visit some place else, anywhere other but Stockholm..

The largest metro area in Thule isn't the Öresund Region like Danes think. Mälaren Valley + Linköping/Norrköping has 4.5 million inhabitants. Much of forest and farmland between say Motala and Örebro, yes, but this area could be seen as the coherent structure of a hand, with Sthlm being the palm and the densely populated areas along major roads and railways forming the fingers. This region is the true "motor" of Scandinavia. One truth leaving Öresund brawnbeated in utter confusion.

@irishmckiddo I would recommend everybody to visit Sweden! I have never meet a more humble and gentle people. The nature is breathtaking and Stockholm is such a beautiful capital!

Copenhagen is, formally speaking, closer to being a "capital" of Scandinavia (and Finland) as it is the seat of the Nordic Council. BUT, whichever measure of demographics, economy, cultural and scientific influence you adopt, Stockholm will come out as a winner.
