@Preaplanes
Long before that, if humans haven't been wiped out, we'd probably figure out a way to keep the sun stable for billions of years more than it was ever intended to.

I'm liking these star trek special effects

@GoLeeroy That is rubbish, don't believe everything you read on the internet.

Such a cruel irony that our planet should live for billions of years, before being blotted out of existence in the blink of an eye.
Preaplanes (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
@TheMetalSgt Um, we'd still be orbiting our sun, we'd just be stranded as a lone solar system out in deep space.
And what the hell do you mean "instantly"? This isn't exactly light speed that we'd hit something, and if we ever do go into open orbit from the sun, we'll freeze in a couple days, not instantly. We DO have an atmosphere you know.

@kellycolburn1 In 2 billion years the sun will be 21% hotter, I think we may very well have moved on from this planet. And in 5 billion years, even if we manage to orbit milkomeda perfectly, we sure as hell better have moved on, this planet won't exist.

0:15 "the andromeda galaxy is falling towards the milky-way."
this is awkward since the andromeda galaxy hast the most mass out of the two.
so couldn't it be that the milky-way is actually the one falling to the other?

In two billion years, we'll have our shit figured out.

I like how he says it would be a "catastrophe" if earth were to be thrown into it. It wouldn't be a catastrophe it would just be an instant earth rape that we wouldn't even be able to acknowledge fast enough. And i guess if we were thrown out into space we would just freeze like instantly. |
