This was SO helpful to me. I have been trying to figure out the whole vector thing because I am getting into a lot of graphic design and art. Thank you!

You are truly brilliant, thanks for sharing your knowledge & energy.

@Johnnyradionic You're forgetting that you don't have to be good with the software to make money off it. First of all, most company's prefer finding a designer that actually speaks their language, there's tons of work in EVERY country, it's not just for asians. Second, you have to be creative with it. Nobody cares if you can make a photorealistic drawing in Illustrator if it's been done 100 times before. Creating a unique style and doing something nobody has done before is what gets you money.

@Johnnyradionic Haha youre a complete tool. Grow up.

To 1001001011011001 Yeah? And do you think YOU'RE going to get the job? "The world," as you mention it, is a world market with countless Asians willing to work for pennies per day -- which was my initial point (that clearly needed to be spelled out for you). Graphics = good. You making a dime from it = equally good. (Because a dime is all you'll ever collect.) Do a job search dimdumb. Those with multi-year college degrees are offered $9/hour.

@Johnnyradionic Go troll on another video loser. Graphic design and design in general is basically everything. Every label, notebook cover, web page, they're all graphic design. People will be looking more and more for web designers since the world is becoming internet based. Open your eyes and look at the world for once and find something better to do than bitch on other peoples videos. Maybe YOU should go pick cans off the side of the road, at least its more productive than wasting time here.

Illustrator (all versions) is a soon-dead software. If you think you're ever going to make a dime (after spending years becoming half-skilled in the decades-old technology) creating cartoony crap, you're sadly mistaken. Yet, if you enjoy creating femmy, pastel "works of art" that clearly are best suited for Mothers' day cards, this is the software for you, especially, if you enjoy picking up cans by the side of the road to augment the pennies-per-year income you'll eventually garner. Good luck.
