As for the caliber wars. If you think getting hit by certain calibers will knock you off your feet or throw you into the air like a John Woo movie take a look for videos of body armor manufacturers testing their products on themselves or their employees. I watched a video of a Second Chance exec demonstrating his product by putting on a vest. Loading a .357 Magnum revolver and shooting himself in the chest while standing on one foot. He stayed right where he was.

I love when people get into caliber wars when caliber never came up in the video at all.
shootingcoach nice video. My instructor for qualifications and requals has always hated the term double tap as well. He usually says 'tac-tac' method. And when instructing new people and people requalifying, he'll remind them to fire only when they aquire their sights after the first shot.

you make a very good point not mentioned by most other youtube gun 'instructors', the gun will have a tendency to go back to where it started if you dont force it. let the gun flip naturally and it will almost always fall back to where it aimed first. i can shoot my G21 .45ACP as fast as i can pull the trigger and put all shots on a man sized chest target.

I'd pick the M4 Alaskan Derringer over this, and that's coming from an Englishman

making fast follow up shots nearly impossible. If your body is not set up to mitigate recoil, you again are not going to return to "zero" making fast, accurate follow up shot difficult. Lining up the sights and pressing the trigger are the easy steps, it's getting to the point where you are ready to press the trigger most people need to work on.

I don't really care what you want to call it or how many shots are involved. To make 1 shot you will have 2 sight pictures, before the shot and after the shot. Since you have re-obtained your sight picture at the end of the shot if you need to press the trigger again. So you do this over and over until the threat stops. Stance and grip is everything in shooting fast, if you don't have a positive grip on the weapon system it's going to float in your hand.... |
