I have an oxygen midi controller. How do I get it to come out the PA? Oxygen 49 only has a sustain and usb input....

Continue in this manner until all of your onscreen controls are mapped to your desired effects parameters. It will be a lot of mousing around I know, but remember you will only have to do this once for each Set.
Now you should be able to move into the Perform window and your physical controllers should each control their onscreen counterpart which in turn controls your desired parameter.
I hope this helps, please, feel free to contact me with any other questions.

After you have mapped all of your physical controllers to onscreen controls, be sure to turn off learn mode.
Now move into the Edit window. Again select only one onscreen controller at a time and then click the Map Parameter button and make a modification to the Effect parameter you would like to control. Again, 3 is the magic number of moves. You should see the onscreen controller move with the parameter. Make sure you turn off Map Parameter before selecting a new onscreen controller.

If all of your knobs on your Axiom are sending out the same MIDI signal, the the fix for this is actually by reassigning the MIDI out commands on the Axiom itself.
However just to make sure...
First go into the Layout window. Here, turn on Learn mode and select only one onscreen control at a time and then move the desired physical controller a minimum of three times. You should see the onscreen controller begin responding. Assign each physical controller to only one onscreen control.

i've had mainstage for a while and i use an axiom 25 keyboard with it. but can you please explain how to assign knobs to effects in it. i do the learn, but it treats all 8 rotary knobs on the axiom as the same midi channel and changes all the effects when i move just one knob

Unfortunately you cannot use the Caps Lock Keyboard trick in Mainstage, that only works in Logic. For Mainstage you need to have a device that outputs MIDI.
But, that being said, any device that outputs MIDI can be used with Mainstage. I personally use an M-Audio Axiom controller, but I have seen people use Mainstage with hacked Nintendo Wii controllers and a MIDI drum brain.

What are you using as your "hardware controller"?
Can you just use the keyboard of your mac? |
