Good day
I also had the Smash-Up-Derby. I also recall seeing the ad on TV. I got it as a B-day gift in 1972 or 1973.
I today have the Masterpiece game.
The cars are loong gone...
I thought the ZZZ!!!! sound was annoying back then, but loved the set.

@y14Productions Ahhhh, it used to be a nice place. It had sunshine with no smog, fresh air, birds, trees, and you didn't have to worry about predators. Back in my day, a predator was a lion or an eagle, sigh....

@SONGSTICKS Yeah, and those were the days that you could let your kids outside... from sun up until well past when the street lights came on. You really knew when to go inside by the tone of your mom's voice (like the third try, lol).

@BubbaBodecker You forgot to mention how a pain in the ass it was to get
Bing Bang Boing to work as perfectly as it did in the commercial,
And aren't you glad you don't have to sift through a garbage pickup
to get your porn now?

@OneWarmDragon Our favorite Toys growing up were the B2 Bombers, and a Couple
of Nuclear Weapons.
