@123doe123 Situps are not outdated just never looked at in detail because they were deemed to simple. The correct way is to have something under the back for support allowing the rectus abdominis ample room to fully flex and extend. Knees should be bent at a 45 degree angle. Full Flexion and Extension allows for the muscle to be worked fully instead of isometric crunches/planks. The something under the back prevents back pain. And there is no difference between front abs or back abs...

sit ups in the long run are going to leave you with a bad back (back pain), this exercise is so out dated ,, do some different exercises to strengthing the front of your abs. (plank, reverse curl. scissor kicks) to say a few.

Abs don't flex the hips, period. She is moving her hips. Look at her legs flex. Why do they flex, becuase her hip flexors are still doing all the work to flex the hips. Trainers who don't know anatomy suck.

my friend lost so much weight doing crossfit I really want to get started so I am watching videos first so I am not completely intimidated on my first day though I now I will be and sore for days afterward but I want to feel fit and looks trong.
