I'm in NW Indiana, but due to Lake Michigan, somehow it creates something like a weather-proof bubble over us and it prevents tornadoes from hitting our town. We get one tornado roughly every 12-20 years.

No, you are stupid and very naïve to think that the equipment is privately funded. The vast majority of these chase efforts are funded by organizations that are duped in. Also, the days of increasing warning times by driving into tornados are over. The next increase in warning time will be done by Infrared satellite observations and LD laser metrology. So, don't send any money to those fools who only want a rush by chasing tornados. Send the money to some child health organization instead.

@Trolleymoose Ok, just remember what you said when your seriously injured or dead from a tornado and nobody will help you since it's your fault for not getting to a safe shelter in time. And well make you pay for every single penny of the hospital bill since you said the money should go to sick people and you won't be sick, you'll just be dying from all the bleeding. Then they'll say to you, "whats wrong, isn't 20 seconds enough time to get to safe shelter? You seem to think it is."

@Trolleymoose Are you stupid? Taxes don't go toward Storm Chasing. Storm chasing is usually a hobby. Some do tours and some do it for science. A lot comes from it. They are able to measure wind speeds and how tornadoes form. They can increase tornado warnings and predict a tornadoes path saving many lives. Don't go saying crap about Storm Chasing when you dont know anything about it. Maybe they should just give you 30 seconds of before your city and you get hit instead of giving you 10 minutes.
