That's weird, I thought this was how you were meant to read. I never realised I was inadvertently using a 'speed-reading' technique.

Actually the opposite is true. People who have problems with reading (e.g. dyslexia, alexia) often have problems translating the signs into spoken language mentally, i.e. getting the voice of the text in their minds. Without doing so, it is very difficult to comprehend the text. It rarely involves the larynx. Poor reading speed can be due to e.g. lack of concentration, not recognizing the visual signs, unfamiliar discourse, interference from aural language (e.g "AEIOU"), info dense phrases etc.

@staboymalibu94 its an exercise to stop you from pronouncing words in your head. Pronouncing words in your head slows you down and is unneccesary
