@JoeNumberwang We see the English ones here too. Britains got Talent, The X Factor (I think that's in England), etc. He is no different in any of them. I have also noticed that over the years, Randy and others have become more cynical as well. I think all the winners have an initial 12 month contract with Syco (Simon's recording company) and then business is business I guess. It always comes down to the dollars, but they (the judges) do stipulate that repeatedly throughout the series.

@trulykiwi Maybe it is worse in the English ones which are the ones I'm used to hearing about. Again ran by Cowell, he has dropped so many of the winners of the shows after one album. Just a factory, pretty sad.

@JoeNumberwang Yep that seems to be the "New" way! Try to get everything you want the easy way. I am impressed that people that actually win these shows have talent. There have only been a couple that have not made it to the big time, after winning one of these shows. Also, the runner up usually gets some form of lucrative contract from it. There are simply too many people who think they have the talent to win, when they don't. Some though go on the show to be idiots!

@trulykiwi Yeah, I don't watch it but it worries me that shows like this are put on a pedestal as the right way to act and the right way to achieve "fame". I believe most people who go on these shows are about the talent but are about chasing fame.

Simon was totally bad with Taylor Hicks and didn't think he would go through at all. He became American Idol, and I think at one point during the show Simon apologized. This wasn't during season 1 or 2, so she should have known how Simon disses people. She probably willl NEVER become an American Idol now, or even in the Top 24.....She might be able to come back now that Steven and Jennifer Lopez are new judges, but Randy is still around
