Terry Knight did go solo and the Pack continued for a while without him.

Terry wrote some of the best lyrics of the sixties, which is saying quite alot. I also think the lyric in the first of these songs of the daughter's protective father demanding he "leave my daughter alone" is terribly ironic given the way Terry would meet his tragic demise so many years later. Alas, we've got so many cool songs like these to serve as a reminder of his colorful creativity.

"Mister You're a better man than I" is one of my favorite songs from Terry Knight. This stuff beats rap-crap hands down. Being from Flint, Mi, we had a lot of area groups back then. Grand Funk,
Terry Knight and the Pack, Dick Wagner and the Frost to name a few. |
