Will willemite glow under regular blacklights?

Very nice! I like minerals with special properties and fluorescent minerals are really spectacular. So far I have been collecting radioactive ones but I might expand to the flourescent ones. They are also more safe to exhibit ;o)

i bought a uv flashlight, and of the the rocks i have only a quarts one and a chunk of silver ore seem to be fluorescing, both with bright pink specks, im thinking i may need a shortwave light instead of whatever this flashlight is.

I may have to start collecting these rocks. I live right next to Pikes Peak so I can only imagine what they have up there

Do the different minerals all have unique colors or are some the same? These kinds of thing interest me, I had no idea until I watched your video kinda like the colloids in water forming into geometric shapes of increasing complexity as they are exposed to different pitches of sound, always on perfect notes though, check these out also if you have not seen them, amazing, almost like crop circles, even if they are made by nutters in the night? cheers |
