You have to love how we crash cars to see how they withstand yet we have self guidance systems that could have been installed in cars to prevent collision. How stupid are we? Should we evaluate the individual witch caused the wreck or the transportation system that permits collision? Its like building wood houses that burn easy, get water damage, and can blow away from strong winds. Yet we have all the silicon we need to produce concrete structures witch becomes stronger over time.

Like they said, it's not the car being crushed that kills you. It's your organs, especially your brain, being thrown against your body cavities. Steel won't save you. Now imagine what a head on collision would be like at 70. Bet the survival rate is less than 1% no matter what you drive.

and in a side impact?

The only damn way anyone would survive a damn crash n a smart car is if they made it 100% steel like the old days, Like 80's and under material.
