If a joke is relatable and painfully simple, it's very possible it's been thought of before. I thought that could've happened with Mencia, after being called a thief so often, I wondered if it was just overreacting. He can't see EVERYONE perform. BUT, that was then. NOW, just he's full of shit. No way he's never seen it, it's one of the most famous stand up acts ever. The fact that he shows arrogance, while denying ripping off Cosby, Kinison, and Carlin is both disturbing and frightening.

@anthonyanthonyant (cont 2) of the jokes is identical. It starts with telling about the father teaching the son to play. Mencia makes his slightly different by talking about specific types of plays. Then they talk about the progress of the son through high school and college. Mencia makes his different by taking it all the way through the NFL. Then it ends with the son saying "Hi Mom". Mencia makes his 'different' by saying, "I love you mom!" and then screaming like an open mic comic. (cont)

@anthonyanthonyant (cont) never really saw the light of day. So that was a coincidence. If this was the only time Mencia had been accused of stealing, you could maybe say this was a coincidence. But he has been repeatedly accused of stealing by just about everyone in the industry, including some of his friends. But even if this was the first time, you have to look at the structure of these two jokes. It's not like Cosby and Mencia just had similar joke premises...the entire structure (cont)

It's not like I stopped you from writing, and I waited almost 24 hours before responding. Anyway, yes...people CAN have the exact same idea/jokes. As a comedian I recently watched Demitri Martin tell a joke that was almost identical to a joke of my own that I told years ago. I know he didn't steal it from me because mine (cont)

@bestnatesmithever im not arguing but instead trying to have a discussion with someone who wont let me finish. and im the one thats not mentally there? so you are saying out of 6 billion people on this earth NO 2 PEOPLE CAN EVER HAVE THE SAME IDEA, SAME JOKE, SAME ANYTHING because it would it would be stealing? that makes little sense in fact none whatsoever. so in order for carlos to have said what he said he must 100% have heard cosby because a man is incapable of thinking of a similar idea?

@anthonyanthonyant I didn't realize there were still people who don't think Mencia steals jokes. I'm going to stop debating this, because if you don't think Mencia stole this joke from Cosby, you are clearly missing something mentally, and I try to avoid arguing with crazy people.
