Absinthe doesn't make you hallucinate - not anymore anyways. The reason alot of people back during absinthe's hayday talked about its "trippy" effects is because poisonous chemicals were being added to cheaper (and thus most popular) versions of the drink in the 19th century, to give it a more vivid colour. Tujone (which comes from wormweed) can relax you muscles in large doses, but there's no evidence it makes you hallucinate. Absinthe is just an alcohol drink - a potent one, but just that.
